Reliability is always going to be of concern to your customers. A basic reliability MTBF prediction of your system can be made by component count, but we can add specific environmental and stress factors in to give a more accurate reliability calculation. In addition, reliability analysis using our software can integrate data from reliability trials and field statistics. These can be weighted according to their statistical significance, so that you have the best overall reliability data for your customer.
MTBF and Failure Rate Data, are calculated according to commonly used models derived for both military and commercial objectives. They include n+1 redundant rules and field statistics
Bellcore (Telecordia)
This commercial reliability model is based on the internationally recognised Bellcore Standard used to calculate the reliability of electronic equipment. The latest version is the Reliability Prediction Procedure SR-332 issue 2. There are three prediction methods:
- Component count
- Component count prediction with laboratory data
- Predictions based on field reliability data
MIL 217
The military based standard MIL-HDBK-217F is ideal for a reliability project that is "mission critical", in either commercial or military terms. There are two methods used:
- Component count, used in the early design phase.
- Component stress analysis. Used in the later design phase and requires detailed information
If you are not familiar with reliability or MTBF and your first contact with us is online, we would be pleased to hear from you! Let us know what your reliability questions are, we will be more than happy to help.
Reliability report
Our main report package is comprehensive, however a summary report for management purposes is always made available to give an overview without having to wade through the mathematics. Reliability can become a highly technical issue, with n+1 redundant MTBF calculation - however our report will cut it down to a manageable size.
